Massive Hype Concerning The Xbox 360

As you probably already know, the supply of Xbox 360 ’s isn’t anywhere near the demand of the consumers. This can be blamed on the manufacturing complexity of the Xbox 360 machine, the multiple launches in different regions, and the momentum present from the original Xbox as well as the Holiday shopping season.

In Europe and North America, there are supply shortages. For now, Japan can be left out of that analysis because there isn’t any shortage there at the present moment. Microsoft is going to be in the game industry forever. The hype that has been generated by all of the supply shortages now could result in the mainstream associated the Xbox with videogames. One very important thing is mindshare.

There were several people that had never even heard of the Xbox gaming system before now have been introduced. In fact, Xbox 360 is completely all over the place: news media, advertisements, television shows, PVC forum. Everyone everywhere wants one. In the event that you want one but you can’t really located one, you may get a little frustrated. You will be really shock at the amount of people that will punch some holes in the wall and break bottles because they can’t purchase the hottest item of the year.

The bottom line is if you, yourself are a gamer or if you have a very close relationship with a gamer, or if you have a child that is a gamer or may want to be a gamer one day, or if you ever take the time to watch television, you have at least heard of the new gaming console known as the Xbox 360. Word travels fast and by now, you have probably heard more about the Xbox 360 than you could ever imagine. The Xbox 360 has had a lot more advertising than the Playstation 3.

By several people, the Xbox 360 is considered to be the absolute greatest gaming console on the retail market today. However, there are others that are still totally in love with their playstations and they will always remain faithful to them. In the event that you are thinking about purchasing the Xbox 360, or even if it is just a very casual though, or in a situation where you would just prefer to sound a little more informed next time that you and all of your gaming friends are together, you may want to take the time to look at the Xbox 360 pros and cons.

The Xbox 360 gaming console pros and cons aren’t there to tell you that you shouldn’t or should purchase the Xbox 360; they are there just to let you know all of the reasons that you should purchase the Xbox 360 and all of the reasons that you shouldn’t purchase the Xbox 360. It is totally up to you on what decision you make on purchasing the Xbox 360. However, make sure that you take into consideration that the Xbox 360 has some extraordinary graphics but the question of whether or not they are better than the PS3 is completely debatable. However, most people wills till agree that the Xbox 360 has much better graphics that the Nintendo Wii.

excellent value
This netbook is a great value for 0. It works well for keeping up with e-mail on the move and is very adequate for surfing the internet. The solid state memory is adequate and eliminates the sometimes fragile compact hard drive. The small size and light weight makes it especially convenient for travel. Recommended.

Not even opened yet.
I haven't opened the box yet, as this is a Christmas gift for my wife. However, I thought it important to note that the shipping was less than satisfactory. The box it was shipped in had little packing material in it and I could feel and hear the computer inside sliding around all over the place. There was considerable room for it to slide up and down, back and forth. At least 4 inches in every direction. No doubt there were a significant number of impacts during its delivery here from DataVision. We'll see when we fire it up just how reliable the solid state drive is.
Also, I was not pleased with the country of manufacture as I hate buying Chinese. Country of origin should be listed in the product description. Had it been listed, I probably would not have purchased this product.

Great!
I bought this for my daughter as an eighth grade graduation present. She has access to a desktop with a full-sized keyboard and monitor, but she hasn't used it once since June. The Linux OS and installed software do everything she needs. Small, light and infinitely portable, good battery life, tough SD hard drive, this is perfect for the student. (The low price helps too . . . you don't worry so much about loss or damage.)

Charger went out in just 4 months
I bought this netbook back in June and have already had to send it in for a repair. Thankfully it was just the power cord that needed to be replaced.

excellent
A very good buy, the 900 or 901 model is imho the best in the series; unfortunately, the successor models appear to have become heavier, bulkier and moved to HD instead of SSD storage.

EEEPC 900 is OK
I got an Asus EEE PC 900 for long trips overseas. It works really well. Its plenty rugged. It has enough space to hold some music as well as do all the communications chores while on the road. It has a large enough screen for my older eyes to read without extra prescriptions and yet it is small enough to work on a plane even when the person in the seat ahead is fully reclined. However, this is not a tool for doing video editting in the field or any other computationally intensive job. I like the Win XP version because I had test driven a Linux version with Windows emulator to run some special software that I use a lot - the true Win XP is far superior in this regard. This is a great product for straight-forward email and web browsing, but not so great for heavier chores (but then thats why heavy duty laptops exist).

The biggest drawback is the lack of an optical drive - you have to carry an external drive if you are going to need one.

Eee PC 900 - For Linux Users Only
I was interested in the concept of this device for a while, and with refurbished devices coming on the market (and a coupon I received) I decided to go for it and get the device.

Let me start by saying that my understanding is a lot of these devices are begin refurbished because they were running Linux, and the refurbish is to put windows XP on the device. That is what I think happened with this device. The original description said Linux, but the device came with Windows XP.

What attracted me to the device was the fact it has solid state disks. This makes it very quiet (it only has a small fan for the CPU) and I think will make it robust (nothing moving but the keys). With a built in SD slot and a 2Gbyte SD card, I now have a 14 GByte device. You can't do video editing, but youtube works fine and for word processing/simple spreadsheets it seems to be fine. The small size is great.

However, this device is too small for Windows XP. The SSD memory layout is a 4 GByte and a 8 GByte drive, with Windows installed on the 4GByte drive. This is too small for Windows XP. I could not install SP3 without removing everything extraneous (including Microsoft Works) from the PC. Then I had problems installing the next round of fixes. The OS seemed to run fine, but it was proving to be a pain to put fixes on.

My solution was the Ubuntu Netbook Remix version of Linux (which I am using on the Eee 900 right now to write this review). It's Linux, so I have some anomalies to work out (getting the viewer of PDF's defaulting correctly in Firefox, etc.). But the install is very clean, it appears to be a pretty complete package and it works quite well. Still figuring out some Microsoft word/Openoffice issues, but it seems to let me at least edit word documents (if word can edit them afterwards is something I still need to play with).

The screen is a good size, the mousepad is good. The keyboard is not bad, I am going to have to see how it lasts, feels a little cheap.

So, if you are willing to run Linux (as I was), this is a good device, if you want to run Windows XP I would not recommend this device.

A good, compact traveling companion
I travel a lot, usually on a motorcycle, and this has proven to be a compact (a necessity with the limited storage space afforded by saddlebags), reliable way to check e-mails, edit and store pictures, and keep expense records while on the road. I'll continue to use my desktop for gaming and editing video (WAY beyond the capabilities of the little ASUS) but I won't be away from home without the little white netbook.

Nice little box...
Battery life is okay and the XP runs okay. This is not a desktop replacement and doing anything with it beyond internet/email use can't be expected to go well. For the price I would have paid extra and got a full blown notebook with bigger keyboard. If you have a very directed use of email, internet and very light word processing this might work.

why is this over 0 from amazon?
this same machine is 9 else where Techno Intelligence must be ripping people off. The machines are great.

Travelling with a Kindle in Asia
An Australian based Kindle travelling through the North Eastern parts of India can be a frustrating exercise. I was on a three week vacation in West Bengal covering the major city of Kolkata, a seething mass of 15 million people, in a climate that was becoming hotter and more humid on a daily basis. From there it was onto Darjeeling, a place famous for its tea, tourism and remnants of its former colonial heritage. Currently this area is in 'dispute' with the West Bengal government and is seeking self status - Gurkaland - so the difficulties of travel in this area are compounded by poorly maintained roads so bad that trips of 50 -60km can take up to 3-4 hours and rolling 'strikes' from the separatist movement.

Now the picture is painted how does my Kindle work within this environment - all of the hotels at the 4/5 star level only have an internet connection and no PC - this is generally the case wherever you travel these days. In this part of the world you do find a 'business centre' in each of these hotels - however it is generally a single PC and an aged one at that. As an Australian Kindle this is your only power source and you are hardly going to leave it to charge for an hour or two whilst you mooch around the local haunts -chances are it won't be there when you return!

So once the battery drained after the initial flight to Singapore it was game over for reading and a reversion to the hardback I was forced to buy on my travels.

The Kindle for us Aussies is fine - at home and in your own residence. Outside that environment its a paperweight and I certainly won't bother taking it on my travels again. Until we can charge the Kindle up through a power source it will never become the international bedside companion. I have though of using the Power Monkey - a portable charger that pumps out a very low voltage for mobile phones and the like but I am reluctant to test this theory as it may cook the unit. Any ideas out there for my new paperweight?

Lost without it
Love the Kindle - wish it had a dictionary lookup feature independant of the books it holds. I'd be lost without my Kindle.

I Love My Kindle
What was life like before a Kindle - truly all kidding aside it consisted of reading books from Amazon and listening to books on my Apple Ipod.

Then last Xmas along came my Kindle and my life changed again - now I exist in three realms - I consider myself lucky and privileged to be at the crossroads of the three media - paper books, Ipod and Kindle books. I have all three and life is perfect.

But (I am ashamed to admit) I read a lot of classical and obscure books. And over and over again I am finding that my taste in books (example: Lytton Strachey, Lawrence and Gerald Durrell, Yeats, Maugham, Walter Scottand et cetera) is not only readily available for my kindle - it is rewarded by being so inexpensive that it is almost free!!!

I DO LOVE MY KINDLE and all the paradisical privileges it brings with it!

I love my Kindle!
I received a Kindle for Christmas and I wasn't thrilled about getting the product. After sitting on my shelf for 3 weeks and my husband making me feel guilty about not using it, I finally took it out of the packaging. I hate to read manuals and I'm not good at electronics so I figured I would quickly be putting the Kindle back into its box. I was pleasantly surprised to find that the setup was amazingly easy. Within minutes I was set to go and quickly downloaded my first book. Reading the books on the Kindle have been great on my eyes because since I turned 40 it has become more and more difficult to see up close. The Kindle has solved this problem for me. I've even downloaded a magazine subscription for B000FI73MA.25 a month. The only downside I can even think of is that since I'm reading the book at a larger font and I'm a fast reader, I spend alot of time hitting the "NEXT PAGE" button.

most expensive non-book. ever.
After a little over a year, my Kindle went ka-put. I've charged it and tried turning it on and get nothing. Not even a light or error message of some sort. I (literally) bought into the whole Oprah rave and fell for the off special at the time. I bought one online book to start, which I never even finished before I found out that it just stopped working. The only things I did find convenient with it was the fact that I could lay sideways and read without having to fold or awkwardly manage a book. But let's face it, if I'm already in that position, I'm falling asleep in 5 mins, which is normally what happened. The other thing I liked was the look-up on any word I wanted, but I could have just kept a dictionary nearby.

So having said all that, I realized in this (very expensive) exercise, that I'm a traditionalist. I love going thru actual books and flipping pages. If I liked them, they're mine forever and I can get to them anytime I want. If not, I can still get a bit of money back from them at the local Half-Priced Books. The Kindle always felt fragile to me. One small move and I'm bounding pages forward or back. The book cover for it was awful, and it would never stay in place.

I've contacted customer support to see if there's any kind of warranty or replacement part or even sympathy that could be offered to my dead Kindle...but to no avail.

A built-in Travel Kit that includes sample MP3s and audio books will get you started with entertainment, and with the unit's SD memory card expansion slot you can add optional software, such as language and travel guides. A USB port is also included for loading and updating data.

An excellent GPS navigation system unlike ones made in present day
The Garmin Nuvi 360 is an excellent GPS navigation system. It talks and gets me where I need to go. The case is solid and well-built unlike systems made in present day that feel light and cheap.

Garwin nuvi 360 GPS
If you do travel from state to state this machine will not be okay. I have to make trips to multiple states and it does not keep up with the changes. It has taken me down dead end roads. Turned me down one way streets and recalculated enough times that I should have invested in a good atlas. I have watched it set and try to find a address for 15 minutes and turn it off and ask someone at a gas station for directions, turn it back on and it have the direction and be ready to go. I liked our other Garwin we had 1st we never had any problems.

Navigate
This product was easy to use, Opened the package, started it and it was ready to go. I purchased it for me because my husband always made fun of me getting lost all the time. But he borrowed it and now cant get it back....

Decent GPS until the power button fails
I have owned my Nuvi 360 for over a year, and had no problems with it until the last few months. The power button on these units is constructed poorly. It is set under a piece of plastic, and after repeated use, can get pushed down too far for it to turn on. I went in under the plastic tab to turn it on and it stopped working completely. The product overall is good except for this faulty hardware. Please be aware of this if you are thinking of purchasing this unit. I am buying a new one, and I am going with the Nuvi 265 (the power switch is a sliding switch on this model!) I hope garmin doesn't let me down a second time!

I love my Garmin
Great device to get you where you want to go. One of the best GPS devices on the market. My only complaint is that the included car cord fell apart shortly after one year.

So you just bought a new MP3 player and youre ready to download some tunes. But what do you do about the low-quality headset that came with your purchase? Nothing is more disappointing than headphones that don’t deliver. You want gear that’s going to match your investment and offer the best sound possible. Headphones come in a wide variety of models and prices for the music fan that wants the ultimate audio experience. Dont waste time wondering what you might be missing out on. And dont be afraid to try something new. Remember, its okay to mix brands. When it comes time to shop for headphones, be sure to consider the following.

Fit: This may seem like common sense, but fit can make a bigger difference than you think in terms of sound quality. Ear bud headphones fit in the ear canal but, because they dont enclose the entire ear, other sounds can interfere with what youre listening to. As a result, ear bud users tend to turn up the volume, which can damage the ears! Ear buds also tend to be rather uncomfortable. This type of headphone comes with the very popular iPod.

As an alternative to ear buds, try an enclosed model of headphone, with padding. This type of headphone offers better sound because it usually contains whats called a dynamic transducer, for maximum audio. Other options besides ear buds include headsets that fit tightly on the head or wrap around the head, DJ-style.

Canal phones are another alternative. These are designed to fit comfortably inside the ear canal and provide better sound, with more isolation and good bass. Canal phones are believed to be more effective and safer than other types of headphones, because they eliminate a great deal of external noise. This means that you dont have to turn the music up extremely high in order to hear it, which reduces the possibility of hearing loss. The bottom line: try to find headphones that block out external noises, so that you wont have to turn up the volume.

A noise cancellation feature is commonly available on enclosed headphones. You can use this feature if you hear hissing or experience external noise that lessens your listening experience. To take advantage of this feature, all you have to do is flip a switch. This will decrease background noise, so all you hear is what you want to hear.

Wireless headphones are a great option for people on the go, who dont want to be bothered with lots of external equipment. Keep in mind that wireless headphones often have a small broadcasting range. Look for a model that offers a good range, so that you can take full of advantage of the wireless factor. Check out New Technology TV for more information.

The popularity of Apple’s iPod has spawned a huge industry of iPod accessories. There is such a wide variety to choose from, it can be hard to decide which ones are important to look at and which ones are pointless fluff. Here’s a look at the five iPod classic accessories that every iPod owner needs to consider.

Case

The first iPod classic accessory that every owner should purchase is a protective case. A case is especially important if you travel with your iPod, and if you shove it in your pocket or purse with your keys you’re just asking for trouble without a case. The finish of the iPod classic is especially vulnerable to the dings and dents of everyday life. A protective case will keep your iPod looking pristine, and helps keep dust and dirt away from the vulnerable electronics inside.

Screen Protector

Almost as important as a case is a screen protector. Most cases do not cover the screen, because users want to be able to see the screen without taking it out of the case. A screen protector will protect the screen, which is even more vulnerable to scratches than the metal body. And a scratch across the screen is even more annoying than a scratch across the body, because you’ll be looking right at it every time you look at the screen. Like the case, if you move your iPod classic around a lot, a screen protector is a valuable iPod classic accessory that will keep your iPod looking good.

Charger

An iPod with a dead battery is basically a paperweight. An extra charger or two is an iPod classic accessory worth having, both for convenience and to reduce the chance of running out of juice. Having an extra charger means you can charge your iPod at home and in the office, and you won’t run out of power in the middle of the day. If you spend a lot of time in the car and listen to your iPod while driving (through speakers or an iTrip, please don’t use headphones while driving), a car charger that plugs into the lighter jack will ensure that you have music the whole way.

Cables

Cables are another necessary iPod classic accessory. With just about every computer peripheral now using a USB connection, free USB ports may be at a premium on your computer. Fear not, because you can get a cable that lets you connect your iPod to your computer’s FireWire port instead. Also, if you have iTunes installed on your computer at the office as well as your home computer, an extra sync cable will save you from having to transport the cable back and forth. There are also cables available that let you connect your iPod to your home stereo.

Speakers

Speakers are one of the most popular iPod classic accessories, and therefore come in a wide variety. Most speakers plug into the headphone jack, and are either battery powered or plugged into a wall outlet. There are also speakers that the iPod classic can dock with, which will have the added benefit of charging the unit while it’s playing. Many of these speaker docking stations come with a remote, so you can skip songs and adjust the volume without going over to the unit. Speakers will generally give better sound than headphones, and will allow you to share your music with everyone in the room. If you’re looking for portability, go with the battery-powered speakers. Otherwise, AC-powered speakers will sound better and can have the added functionality of being a docking station.

The wide variety of iPod classic accessories available can be overwhelming. Now, you’ve been given the information that should help you to decide on what accessories you need, and what ones you can avoid.

I don't really get the Apple product craze:
I thought this was a very neat product. I bought it in September of 2008. It's now dead. Won't charge. It was really a very nice design for working out. I used it everywhere. My only complaint really is that you have to use the Apple Itunes product to synch it up, and that's kind of annoying. If you have wma files, then Itunes has to convert them.

You get decent battery life per charge. I'd say at least 8 hours.

But here's the deal: this product is way to weak for the price Apple expects people to pay.

This time around I'm getting a different product. Runs on a replaceable AAA battery. Has twice the storage space, at less than half the cost. Works like a usb disk, and I can just copy files to it. If it works for a year, it'll be worth it.

I think Apple has every retailer and news organization in the tank. I'm really disappointed with getting only 1 year and five months out of it. My guess: the battery is fried. But guess what? You can't replace it.

I kind of wonder what other users think after their own shuffle goes dead after a year or so?

This Ipod is Crap!
I dont even like that much music and this stupid thing cant hold even close to all of it, plus if you want to find a specific song...think again because that is bacically imposible, you can put it on shuffle but mine manly suffles through the exact same songs over and over again i would not recament this for anyone who likes a lot of music or someone who likes to listen to something specific on a certian day.

Older is sometimes better (even with tech products)
After making the disastrous investment in a 4th generation, I wound up right back purchasing the product I had beforehand in the 2G. My previous one took about 2 years worth of punishment before finally calling it a day. I am a competitive runner in marathons and 5 K's and I also have the tendency to be hard on things, so I was not at all distraught over it finally giving out on me.

OK, now I will discuss the particulars. If you are an athlete, you really can't go wrong with this device. Simple, portable, good sound quality, and damn near indestructible from the punishment I inflicted on mine. The ear buds that come with the device I quickly replaced as they do not seem to stay in for me well when I am on the move, But that would be the only area I would have to criticize as far as functionality.

The only other major hindrance is obviously the huge price jump. I quickly found out the reason for this after having the misfortune of purchasing a 4th generation. To put it mildly, it sucks beyond all imagination. After you use one of those for all of an hour, you will not feel nearly as bad about spending the extra money on one of these. I lack colorful enough adjectives (short of profanity) to truly describe how much hatred and contempt I have for apple by trying to pawn off the 4th generation on the athletic community. Seriously, what were they thinking?

OK, rant officially over. Nonetheless, if you are looking for a product that delivers the goods without all the frills (and headaches), the 2nd generation is a home run.

Good sports companion
Good quality, slick design. The battery life is amazing, easily more than 8 hours per-charge. A very good companion for working out. But I still think the price is a bit high considering the simple functionality of this device. Also, if you are a Windows user, installing iTune may require a lot patience.

Ipod Nano 2nd Generation
I received the item in immacualte condition just like the Seller stated. I'm happy with my investment and I recommend the Seller as well.

Ambient Light Sensor
The iPod touch display has an ambient light sensor that automatically adjusts brightness to suit the ambient light in your surroundings. The result? A better experience for you and battery-saving efficiency for iPod touch.

Wireless

Browse, buy, and download music from the iTunes Wi-Fi Music Store at select Starbucks locations or other wireless hot spots in your area. iPod touch finds wireless networks and connects you to the Internet.

Accelerometer
An accelerometer detects when you rotate iPod touch from portrait to landscape, then automatically changes the contents of the display, so you immediately see the entire width of a web page, your music in Cover Flow, or a photo in its proper aspect ratio.

Enjoyable piece of hardware...
The iTouch is a great device, as long as you understand that it has the Apple limitations.

Video, sound and control are virtually great. It's really good for reading books, surfing the web and watching movies.

My main gripe is that it won't play all available sound/video formats and the fact that safari lacks a "Search" option for searching text within the page you're currently on.

As a side note: ever since installing OS 3.x the device has started suffering frm slowdowns, so be wary of that and only install the OS -which isn't free- if you must.

Reveiw Of An Used ipod Touch
All together The iPod is okay but the battery only last a few hours. But I take it that there not made like this the seller didn't inform me that the iPod was faulty. On top of that It took almost two week to receive the item.
But the seller did meet his deadline and will never buy an Item from him again.

My iPod
Holds all my CD's and 6 movies too? I love it so much!It saves me on road trips and flights to any where! Now can you make a solar charger for it?

Toucha Toucha Toucha Touch Me!
What can I said that hasn't already been said? The IPOD TOUCH is a device from the future. It's the tricorder I wanted as a child. It's sexy, sleek, and amazing. Do I sound like a gadget fangirl? Well, not usually, but when my husband bought a TOUCH, I very quickly became hooked. More than that, the whole family suddenly had to have it. I was reminded of the classic movie The Gods Must Be Crazy when the Coke bottle landed in the middle of the tribe and soon no one could live without it. Of course, we weren't that bad, really, but the phrase, "Where's the Touch" became quite common. The exception was the 3-year-old. She'd asked, "Where's Daddy's special little TV?" Now at age 4, she's also playing - and winning - several of the games. And that's part of the beauty of the design of the TOUCH. It's clean. Everyone understands the basic rules of how the apps work. Everyone can turn it on, flick through the screens, and find they app they want. The device is small enough to take everywhere but the screen is large enough to watch movies on. It is truly a paradigm-shifting design.

The TOUCH and the iPhone are fraternal twins. While springing from the same nucleus, they are different. The TOUCH is slimmer, has no phone, no GPS, and no speaker. For my tastes, that's just fine, although a speaker would be nice. We have the 16GB version which is plenty for a score of movies/TV shows, plus some music, audiobooks, and a slew of apps. I actually like that it is not also my phone, but I wouldn't give it away if it were! I'm just leery of all-in-one products. Battery life is descent, but we always have a charger close at hand. One nice thing is that you can turn the screen off while listening to music or an audiobook. You can even play games while listening to your own music. And of course, you have Apple's App store full of every type of program imaginable.

We've had our TOUCH for more than 2 years, and we still love it. It goes everywhere with us and truly has us spoiled. More on that in my review of the Samsung Omnia.

Big on hype, low on customer care
I bought this "first generation" iTouch about a year ago. Apple, in it's wisdom, has decided that paying[..] bucks is not enough, that it should be made obsolete so that if I wanted the latest version, with a speaker and the capability to load software games, I'd have to buy a completely new unit for the same price! They even make you pay for a software upgrade (things other electronics companies offer for free), but not if you have the "first generation" iTouch, which they have decided to NOT support. Thanks, Apple, this is my first purchase from you, and my LAST.
